Week 2 by Murtada Aljassim

I feel that it has gone so fast. The more activities we do, the more I notice that I need to plan faster on what to do next since we have plenty of activities coming up. I believe what we covered in class in the second week was great to give a little bit of a background about the history of Spain, and the Islamic Arabic influence on Spain. That part was interesting to me because I feel related to it. The other part of the class which was culture was also interesting and in last week we learned about different gestures and what they mean.  It's always good to learn gestures because they are not universal. What could mean a good sign in one country could mean a warning or an insult in another. One example comes to mind that can be understood differently in different countries is pointing to someone with 3 fingers.

However, The most interesting part of last week was the field trips. starting with local ones in Cacerec and ending up with Sevilla where we actually had a great time and saw a lot of what we have covered in class. We saw the Roman and Islamic art, and the Christian influence after they took over Sevilla.
